ISO 28781:2010 subsurface barrier valve types

• type A barrier retains pressure from above to control fluid loss or protect the reservoir
• type B barrier retains pressure from below for well control
• type C are bi-directional barriers and retain pressure from above and below

barrier valves AA, BB & CC are designed for use before or after production/injection, can be functioned more than once and will maintain pressure integrity over a predetermined life cycle:

• type AA barrier retains pressure from above typically to control fluid loss or protect the reservoir
• type BB barriers retain pressure from below typically for well control
• type CC barriers are bi-directional and will retain pressure from above and below[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
