barrier valves AA, BB & CC are designed for use before or after production/injection, can be functioned more than once and will maintain pressure integrity over a predetermined life cycle:

• type AA barrier retains pressure from above typically to control fluid loss or protect the reservoir
• type BB barriers retain pressure from below typically for well control
